Join Us!

We’re not trying to get people “plugged in.”

We’re building a rhythm — one rooted in justice, grace, and the kind of belonging that actually transforms us.

At United, discipleship isn’t about doing more. It’s about becoming more human, more whole, more grounded in love.

Here’s what joining in might look like.

The Many – Come and See

Show up. No pressure.

This is where most people begin — not with a membership form, but with presence.

Whether you’re exploring faith, rethinking it, or just curious, you’re welcome here.

Our Breakthrough Prayer is one way we root ourselves in this rhythm. We pray it in worship, in small groups, and in quiet moments of courage and hope. It’s one of the ways we begin.

Ways to Join:

  • Sunday Worship | 10:00am at 16 N Dakota St, Vermillion, SD

  • A mix of ancient and new: organ preludes and postludes + Doxology alongside contemporary worship songs (sometimes with rewritten lyrics)

  • United Kids is offered during the school year — but kids are always welcome in worship

  • Sermons aim for TED Talk length… though Pastor Jordan’s heart and academic brain sometimes have other plans

  • Come early for coffee, community, and people who aren’t pretending

The Twelve – Walk With Me

Belonging happens here.

This is where faith moves from the stage to the table.

We slow down, listen, and practice presence — with each other, and with the sacred.

Ways to Join:

  • Bowl & Breath – a weekly sound meditation on Wednesday evenings (on hiatus in August)

  • Vermillion Social Justice Choir – Thursdays during the academic year

  • Tuesday Community Nights – launching soon: shared meals, open conversations, and intentional spiritual practice

  • Incarnational Ministries – from our Blessed Feet Forward shoe giveaway to justice-based partnerships

The Three – Go…

Lead. Learn. Be Known.

Some of us feel called to lead. Others crave deeper formation.

This is where we invest in one another, stretch together, and live into mutual accountability and shared care.

Ways to Join:

  • Meet with a Pastor – to explore, discern, or just talk

  • Learning Circles – seasonal groups and book-based conversations

  • Leadership Teams – help shape the direction of our community

  • Places to Be Known – spaces where your story matters, even if you’re still figuring it out

Wherever You Are, Start There.

You don’t have to move through this rhythm in order.

You might find yourself leading before you’ve unpacked your doubts.

You might just need a place to rest before you decide what you believe.

We don’t have a formula for spiritual thriving — but we do believe it’s possible.

And we’d love to walk with you while you figure out what that looks like for you.
